Step by Step Instructions for the Kettlebell Russian Twist
Time once again for a little step by step kettlebell instruction! In this installment of our kettlebell workout series, we'll explain the proper execution of the kettlebell Russian twist. This exercise routine is for intermediate kettlebell users. Like all weightlifting routines, this exercise should be executed with care and proper form. The muscle groups most affected by this routine will be the abdominals and the lower back. Always warmup before you begin this or any weightlifting workout. The Kettlebell Russian Twist
- Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat, keeping them about hip distance apart.
- Hold the kettlebell at chest level and maintain a 45? angle as you lean back.
- Move your torso from left to right, moving the kettlebell across your body as you twist.
- Do as many repetitions as you can safely manage.
This is an intermediate kettlebell routine but we always recommend that, if you're not yet to that level, it's advisable to work with a fitness professional to assure proper form and execution of your kettlebell workout until you have progressed to the intermediate stage. This will help avoid injury and prevent the development of poor weightlifting habits. This is critically important for beginners to kettlebell exercise.
