Step by Step Instructions for the Kettlebell Halo
It's time, once again, for another installment in our kettlebell workout series. This week, we will explain the proper execution of the Kettlebell Halo exercise. This kettlebell exercise is for advanced users and should be executed with caution and proper form, as with all weightlifting exercises. The muscle groups most affected by this kettlebell exercise routine will be the latissimus dorsi, shoulders, and triceps. Always warmup before you begin this or any kettlebell workout. The Kettlebell Halo
- Get into a squat position in order to pick up the kettlebell, then raise it to chest level. The kettlebell should be held upside-down by the handle.
- Move the kettlebell around your head in a clockwise motion. Start off by making a large circle and then gradually decrease it until the weight is barely clearing your head.
- Repeat the movement for 8 to 10 reps and then do the same in a counterclockwise direction.
Approach With Caution
Since this is an advanced kettlebell routine, be sure that you're accomplished at kettlebell exercise before you try it. If you're not yet to that level, we strongly advise that you work with a fitness professional to assure proper form and execution of your kettlebell workout until you have progressed, at least, to the intermediate stage. It will help to avoid injury and prevent poor weightlifting habits. This is really important for beginners to kettlebell exercise.
